Czechs fulfilled the greatest expectations and won gold medals as hosts of the world championship. The gold medal game brought such an interesting performance. Americans showed their strength in powerplays. For Czechs, especially the last few minutes were the most dramatic of the tournament. Handl: I have dreamt about this since I was a child
Last year in Karlstad, the IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship was a close affair, too. However, the winner was different. In 2011, it is the Czech Republic taking the honours, with their key player, Roman Handl, chosen as the best goalkeeper of the tournament. Read more»
Czechs barely hang on to win gold at home!
For the second year in a row, the Czechs and Americans met for the world championship of inline hockey. This time, however, it was the Czechs that captured the gold. Tied 1-1, they scored twice late in the first half, then played defensively for most of the second half, and barely hung on for a 3-2 victory. Read more»
